The Values Behind the Village
The quiet rules we live by every day – built on kindness, responsiveness, respect and a little bit of play. These values shape how we work together, welcome others and care for the Village we’re building.

How We Work
Be Quick, Be Thoughtful
When someone reaches out, we reach back. Fast. Whether it’s a teammate, a vendor, a neighbor or a wandering chicken—everyone gets a response, pronto. We believe responsiveness is a love language.
But don’t just be quick—be thoughtful. Give each message a moment of your heart, even if it’s a short reply. People remember how you made them feel.
Lead with Kindness
Kindness is our superpower. We use it liberally—in emails, in meetings in hallway hellos and garden path chats. We don’t do sarcasm. We do sincerity. We don’t do power trips. We do people power.
Add the Personal Touch
Around here, we believe a handwritten note is worth ten emails. So if you’re thinking of sending a thank you or a “thinking of you”—grab a pen and make it personal. Whether it’s a vendor, a neighbor, or someone who just made your day easier, let’s make gratitude a tangible thing.
Respect is the Root
We treat every person—coworkers, collaborators, community members—with dignity. No exceptions. That means listening deeply, disagreeing with grace and assuming good intentions. We’re building something beautiful, and respect is the soil it grows in.
Stay Playful, Stay Grounded
We take our mission seriously—but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Wear the weird hat to the meeting. Celebrate a small win with a dance break. Balance spreadsheets with bare feet in the grass. Be human. Be here.
We Are All Hosts
This Village belongs to everyone who enters it, and we all get to be stewards of the experience. Whether you’re welcoming a guest, helping someone find the compost bins or sharing a snack from the community kitchen—you’re hosting. Let’s make every interaction warm and welcoming.
