Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, reflective, and creative Early Childhood Co-Teacher to join our founding teaching team. This educator will play a central role in cultivating a joyful, inquiry-based, and relationship-centered learning environment for children ages 3-5. This role is grounded in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, emphasizing the image of the child as capable, curious and full of potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Help the Lead Teacher design and execute emergent curriculum based on children’s interests, questions and experiences.
- Assist with classroom preparation, daily activities, clean-up and transitions.
- Observe and engage with children throughout the day, encouraging exploration and discovery.
- Provide individualized attention to children to support their learning and development.
- Help create and maintain an engaging, aesthetically intentional and responsive classroom environment that reflects Reggio Emilia principles.
- Assist Lead Teacher with observing, documenting and reflecting on children’s learning experiences through learning stories, documentation panels and portfolios.
- Provide updates to the lead teacher about any notable observations or incidents.
- Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, atelieristas and families as co-researchers and co-learners.
- Establish strong, nurturing and respectful relationships with children and families.
- Participate in regular team meetings, professional development and reflective practice sessions.
- Engage with the broader Kintsugi Village community through interdisciplinary collaborations (e.g., culinary, art, wellness programs).
- Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all children in your care.
- Uphold licensing standards and organizational policies at all times.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents or concerns to the Lead Teacher or Director of Early Childhood Education.
- Assist the Lead Teacher with other tasks as they arise.

Role Overview
As a Kintsugi Village Culinary Specialist, you will provide hands-on support in the early days of our journey, working closely with the team. Your role will be dynamic—part preparation, serving and set up of the brand new culinary kitchen along with ensuring a strong culinary foundation is built—helping our ideas turn into action. If you thrive in an evolving, purpose-driven environment and love learning and hard work, this position is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, execute and serve food for the early childhood development center.
- Support the preparation of food and execution of events and catering services as needed.
- Keep food safe and work in an exceptionally sanitary manner, observing allergen and food sensitives while demonstrating essential food hygiene practices.
- Implement and support the creation of systems for the department.
- Willing to improve on culinary knowledge and skills through education with the Detroit Institute of Gastronomy Apprentice Program.
- General Operations Support: Jump in where needed—this is a startup and flexibility is key!

Role Overview
We’re seeking a Facilities Coordinator to help keep our space safe, clean and welcoming. This role is hands-on, supporting the upkeep of our building and grounds and ensuring the facility reflects the mission and spirit of Kintsugi Village.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facility needs (including opening and closing procedures).
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock of facility, maintenance and operational supplies.
- Respond promptly to facility-related requests from staff and leadership.
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs and serve as the point of contact for outside vendors as needed.
- Maintain tools, supplies and equipment in safe working order.
- Set up, reset and prepare indoor and outdoor spaces for programs, meetings, workshops and community events.
- Support special events by ensuring facilities are clean, organized and ready for guests.
- Serve as an emergency contact for facility-related issues and coordinate appropriate responses when needed.

We’re seeking a Welcome Desk Host to be the first friendly face people see at Kintsugi Village. This role is all about hospitality — greeting guests, managing access to the building, and helping everyone find their way, all while keeping our space welcoming and secure.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome all guests, staff and visitors as they arrive.
- Buzz in and screen visitors to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Direct guests to the appropriate person, space or event.
- Answer general questions and serve as a helpful point of contact for the space.
- Support day-to-day front-of-house needs and assist with miscellaneous tasks as they arise.
