Kintsugi Village School

The Village is opening – and you can be a part of it!

The heart of Kintsugi Village is the early childhood education center. We have a profound commitment to nurturing young minds at Kintsugi Village School, where we blend traditional education with life skills curriculum, empowering our students to thrive academically, emotionally and socially.

vision statement

At Kintsugi Village School, our center is part of a dynamic ecosystem—a living, breathing community that includes an artist incubator, a culinary space and an event center.

Rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and inspired by the power of play, we nurture each child’s natural sense of wonder through exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships.

philosophy

Inspired by Reggio Emilia

At Kintsugi Village, we believe early childhood is a time for nurturing young minds and hearts. Our mission of compassion, unity, and purpose has led us to the beauty of the Reggio Emilia philosophy.

The Reggio Emilia philosophy centers around the core beliefs that children are capable, curious and active learners, which empowers them to thrive academically, emotionally and socially as they grow. Learning is hands-on and project-based; with the environment nourished and curated as a “third teacher.”

When we trust that children are capable, they develop socio-emotional skills crucial to personal and academic success later on, such as cooperation, conflict resolution, empathy and communication. Academic skills such as self-regulation, attention, self-discipline, working memory, pre-math, pre-literacy all thrive in a hands-on, child-led, active learning environment.

FAQ

What are the qualifications and experience of the teachers and staff?

When we open our doors this October, our teaching team will bring a mix of heart, expertise and creativity to the classroom. Each educator will have a strong foundation in early childhood education, with training rooted in the Reggio Emilia approach. We’re intentionally assembling a team that’s not just qualified on paper, but also deeply committed to nurturing curiosity, honoring each child’s voice and building something beautiful together.

What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

dent-to-teacher ratio to support deep relationships and meaningful learning. Our goal is to maintain an average of 1 teacher for every 6 to 8 children, depending on the age group, so every child gets the support, space and attention they need to thrive.

How are families involved in their child’s learning and school community?

Families are a core part of the village — not just visitors, but co-creators in the learning journey. Starting this fall, you’ll be invited in often: to share stories, help shape learning projects, enjoy meals and take part in community events. From open studio days to cozy classroom moments, we’ll create many ways for you to stay connected and feel at home here.

Are meals and snacks provided? If so, are they (nutritious and locally) sourced?

Yes! When we open this fall, our culinary kitchen will prepare fresh, seasonal meals and snacks for the children. We’re committed to using wholesome ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible — and we’ll make food a hands-on experience, too. Kids will learn where food comes from, explore new tastes and even harvest herbs and vegetables from the garden and green house. It’s not just about eating well — it’s about connecting to the land, each other and the joy of sharing a meal.
