The Kintsugi Village Ecosystem

The ecosystem described below represents multiple initiatives that work together to provide education, training and resources to the local community. Each initiative plays a vital contributor role in its own right, but collaborates with the others to enhance the overall experience.

Education

At the heart of Kintsugi Village lies our early childhood education center, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. This philosophy views children as capable, curious learners who thrive through exploration and collaboration. Our curriculum is child-led, emphasizing hands-on experiences, creative expression and social-emotional development. Children engage in activities like journaling, mindfulness and understanding money, fostering critical life skills. The environment is designed as a “third teacher,” with natural materials and spaces that encourage discovery and connection.

Art

Kintsugi Village serves as a vibrant hub for artistic expression and growth. Our artist residency program offers studio and maker spaces for emerging artists to develop their work and engage with the community. An on-site gallery showcases resident and local artists, hosting regular exhibitions that celebrate creativity. Community members, including children, can participate in art classes and workshops covering various mediums such as oil painting, sculpture, mixed media, and photography. This collaborative environment fosters learning, mentorship and a deeper appreciation for the arts.

Hospitality

Health and wellness are integral to our community and our hospitality initiatives reflect this commitment. Our culinary kitchen serves as a space for chefs to create nutritious, flavorful meals using locally sourced ingredients, supporting regional farmers and producers. Children actively participate by tending to the school garden, cultivating fruits, vegetables and herbs. They host seasonal “kids farmers markets,” sharing their harvest and knowledge with the community. This hands-on experience teaches the value of healthy eating and the importance of sustainable practices.

Retreat

Continuing across the grounds is our retreat center. A sought-after center for teams, leaders and organizations local – and from across the country seeking a space for deep connection, learning and mindfulness. And an added bonus while utilizing the space is the beautiful grounds, access to the culinary experiences of the food truck + catering kitchen + the sounds and joys of children from across the school!

Training

And lastly, the idea of purpose, vision and values is essential to how we run the Village and how we attract and develop talent. Training our next generation of leaders is critical to the success of the Village and the sustainability of our values and culture.

We anticipate opening in Fall 2025. Until then, we invite you to join us and read about our progress.
