The Kintsugi Village Ecosystem
The ecosystem described below represents multiple initiatives that work together to provide education, training and resources to the local community. Each initiative plays a vital contributor role in its own right, but collaborates with the others to enhance the overall experience.
Education
The heart of the Kintsugi Village is an early childhood education center that will be private but charges little to no tuition, guaranteeing access to the diverse local community. It will be a unique experience where kids will not only grow and develop academically, but socially, emotionally and spiritually. They’ll learn critical life skills like understanding money, healthy eating, building relationships, mindfulness, setting intentions and journaling. These early years will create the foundation for a joyful and impactful life.
Art
The Village also houses an artist incubator. A center for known and up-and-coming artists who want to debut their work to the community and also learn the business side of art. Kids from the school and from the community can take workshops and learn about various art techniques not limited to oil, sculpture, mixed media and photography. A space where artists can collaborate, share their work and teach others about the beauty of art and collecting!
Hospitality
As you continue exploring the Village, you’ll learn that health + wellness is an important pillar…so we have a catering kitchen and food truck that sources local ingredients and promotes local farmers and growers bringing fresh, healthy and flavorful foods to the entire Village. Our chefs really believe that food is medicine and they want to be part of this experience and share their passion with others. Kids are also involved in tending to the school garden – where they plant and cultivate vegetables, fruits, and herbs. In season, they host a “kids farmers market” where they “sell” their products and teach community members all about the benefits of what they’ve grown and cultivated!
Retreat
Continuing across the grounds is our retreat center. A sought-after center for teams, leaders and organizations local – and from across the country seeking a space for deep connection, learning and mindfulness. And an added bonus while utilizing the space is the beautiful grounds, access to the culinary experiences of the food truck + catering kitchen + the sounds and joys of children from across the school!
Training
And lastly, the idea of purpose, vision and values is essential to how we run the Village and how we attract and develop talent. Therefore each year we send a few of our team members through the Leadership Academy – a certification program run through the Small Giants Community with the focus on developing leaders as a whole human. Training our next generation of leaders is critical to the success of the Village and the sustainability of our values and culture.
