We’re launching the Kintsugi Village School…
Kintsugi Village School Launches This Fall – Enrolling Now!
Something special is taking shape in Corktown—we’re thrilled to share that Kintsugi Village School officially launches this fall, with Phase 1 opening on October 13! This first phase will welcome two classes of early learners, and we’ll expand in January to serve more than 100 children, ages 3–5. What makes our school different is that it’s part of something bigger. Nestled within the larger Kintsugi Village campus, our school is uniquely situated in a space where education, art, food, and nature converge. Learning won’t be confined to a classroom. Children will move seamlessly between indoor and outdoor spaces—spending their days in the art studio, community kitchen and gardens—nurturing their minds, bodies and spirits in an environment built to spark joy and curiosity. Even meals are part of the experience. With food prepared on-site, our school kitchen will offer nutritious, seasonal meals, including black bean quesadillas with avocado slices, lentil soup with roasted carrots, and Greek yogurt parfaits with fresh fruit. We’re focused on whole ingredients and local sourcing, and we believe it’s not just about what children eat, but also how they eat—mindfully, joyfully and in community. Mealtimes will be another opportunity to slow down, share, and build healthy lifelong habits. At Kintsugi, we’re not just preparing kids for kindergarten—we’re nurturing the whole child from the very beginning. And the foundation for that approach is rooted in a philosophy we deeply believe in: Reggio Emilia.

Why Reggio Emilia?
Our approach is rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, a world-renowned early childhood education model that originated in Italy. At its heart is a powerful idea: that children are capable, curious and full of potential. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, Reggio invites children to take the lead in their learning. Teachers act as guides, supporting students as they explore their interests through play, nature, creative materials and collaboration. This kind of learning emphasizes discovery, critical thinking and communication—all while honoring each child’s unique voice. Research shows that Reggio-inspired classrooms help children develop stronger emotional intelligence, better problem-solving skills and deeper engagement in learning. It’s a philosophy that sees children not just as students, but as people. At Kintsugi Village, that philosophy aligns beautifully with our values. We’re building an environment where learning feels like wonder, where every question matters and where every child feels seen, heard and appreciated.
